# The Havens - November

## Chapter 30 (November 23 sometime)

Been a while since i've sat down and wrote something worthy sitting down for - and it may still be a while - for I don't have too much to say - but months have passed - it is winter now - and I feel a tiny bit obligated for the sake of this story to continue.

At Claires Coriniquipa - and I am charmed by it - I wish more folks around the havens would take note - do they not see that just by cutting an orange slightly - and make it look like a fancy ballarina on my plate - a couple of cuts - slice one and two and boom - you can then charge 3 more dollars per plate.

I am not saying everyone has to charge 3 more dollars per plate - but that's how you would go about it. Nothing is cheap anymore - even the processed foods - it is like a brink of a great recession - and I think I am pretty pumped for it. For there is part of me that wants a great reset on civilization - but I can see how that ends would get annoying - and then the vision of one is not the vision or all and yada yada yada - whatever - let's at least bring back the canals.

The what?

## onCanals

The canals. That's right - the canals.

I don't even think the task will be that hard. Block off street - dig - and fill that bitch with water. You simple dig - and fill it with water. Perhaps we just need an inspiration - perhaps I ought to find my way into some Yale innovation meeting and make a big stink about it - draw some 3d models.

I know that I'd get laughed out of existiance if the alders - which only meet so often - had anything to do with it. Instead - I would need to be mayor.

And if I were mayor - I wouldn't bother about any of this chit chat - I would make it very clear - that I would hire a seasoned boring professional - I would make comments on it - but I wouldn't - it would be a coalition - and I would simply inspire - go out there on a podium - and just waffle - have people think big picture - stop with all this reaction - stop apologizing to things outside of new haven - fuck that - we have problems here. Let's dig some canals and get to work.

If we were, if we were to live in a canal based city - we could spread those who don't want to be here and push them into the connecticut wiilderness - where they can self govern. Okay - perhaps I am taking it all a little far - but it is hard to have empathy when there are folks on the street looking like they are going to straight stab you -

I talked to everyone I can get my hands on about the matter - that night I went to olives and oils for a birthday party for aarney - I am not sure if i Have paid her back - probably something I should look into.

## on homeless

When I first moved here - I was charmed by those - I didn't know a soul - most of my friends - lest the folks that I would talk to every day - were indeed homeless. I met Marcus, Henry, etc - all that way. And to what end. Something now has shifted - having living here 6 years - whereas I no longer find them charming. For they are not jolly - they seem desperate - for okay - give them what they want - get them land - stop trying to build affordable housing in this city - it's never going to be affordable to someone who makes less than 1k - okay - so put them out of the land - and make this be a goal if they so choose - or let them live in a box out in the distance lands. For I see no path in there present state of how they could make it out.

But this is all a wash and a rambling - perhaps I am getting older.

## Chapter 31

Putting my misgivings about what to do with the folks in this city who just want to cause terror - I looked at the castles and the buildings and got inspired once again. This city needs canals - it needs water ways - there are too many trucks - too many double parks of air conditions - this wouldn't happen with canals and a bike lane.

## Chapter 32

I looked at a bird for a while - in between a glass - in between. Listening to a podcast of aliens and theology. I didn't think of this stuff for a while - but this season of loneliness and cold - as the winter began - i began to explore my own personal theology. I had a time to put away - and stare out the window. And then thought about all the ways in which I am inputting into myself. At the moment it was two shots of cheap espresso - i got it at life bowls - a place known for crushed berries and acaii bowls. I still haven't dared to try such. But I thought about the nature of man, thought of about if i was doing what I was supposed to be doing, and I thought about the treasure. Months have passed since we have found it.

In total

And by and by - that was the day I decided to help my new lab mate Luis from spain - build his nanon engineer particle emissor from Yale.

I remember looking at the thing - and looking at all the wires and what not - and quietly repurposed my life - wondering if I was doing a enough - wondering what I was doing.

Talking to him was infectious - and couldn't stop thinking how there was a man out there building a time machine.

## Chapter 33

And as I sat in the tiny desk - with my spoils of screens - I thought about what to do next - and what the point of anything at all is.

it was the day of the winter equionox - december 21st - 2023 - and I - jobless and looking at all these screens - was sick of the digital world - sick of all the screens and the different sproadic text files that one generates day in and out when one is doing things via hand via code.

I wanted people - a team - more than just a rag tag group of treasure hunters - nor my poorly found alderman support group - I wanted to make things - and I wanted a showroom - and a place to be around people - but still have privacy - i wanted to start a business - but not just any business - but one that would scale.

So I threw my hat into the areana and decided to open up a half laundramat - half venue - and half television broadcast network - a place that would have different vending machines.
